XPG, which is the performance division of Adata, the well-established company of the technology sector, has a very good image on the part of the players. We have tested the first generation environmental equipment of the company, which has taken solid steps to strengthen its position in the market with its different products, in the past years and we have said that we are sure that we will see much more innovative and successful products in the next generation.
Alpha is a wireless gaming mouse that goes exactly on this path, which we can evaluate in the upper class with its quality and performance.
The XPG Alpha has an ergo design that resembles the Razer Basilisk at first glance. The thumb rest is very large and extremely comfortable. The hard plastic housing does not use any soft or rubber coating, but the material quality is extremely successful. Thanks to the use of a textured surface where the finger supports are, the grip feeling is extremely successful. Of course, when it comes to ergo, it should be added that the mouse is not suitable for left-handers.
The other thing that you will immediately pay attention to is that although it is a wireless mouse, it is equipped with giant RGB zones. Of course, RGB means a serious reduction in battery life, but XPG did not want those who want to use the mouse wired to be deprived of this beautiful light show. It is also possible to change this light show as you wish through XPG Prime software. Thanks to the same software, you can adjust the macros and adjust the performance settings of the mouse according to yourself.

The XPG Alpha is a mouse that we can call the top of the middle (128mm x 78mm x 40mm). Its weight is 78 grams when the 2.4Ghz dongle is not attached. XPG’s body structure, which it calls exoskeleton, has made this imposing-looking mouse also stay lightweight. The 60 million-click lifetime Omron switches (D2FC-F-K 60MN) are from a fairly new, unmarketed series. Their working power is quite low, the kind of switches that we can call light. They’re not too noisy either. I used it for the first time on my own behalf and I liked it very much, they have a stake close to Kailh GM8.0. The function keys on the side are quite large, but if you do not have a big hand, you may have some difficulty in reaching the one in front. The mouse wheel, on the other hand, is completely silent and has a hardness in taste. It doesn’t tire you out while you’re scrolling through the pages.
On the technical side, XPG has chosen the PAW 3335 as a sensor that is highly suitable for a wireless mouse. Capable of supporting sensitivity up to 16000dpi, 40G acceleration and up to 400 IPS, this sensor is able to offer a combination of low power consumption and high performance. Repeat rate support is 1000Hz, which is more than enough. The lift-off distance can also be adjusted (2-3mm) by the way, but it should be noted that 2mm only provides the level it should be.
The 410mA battery has a maximum strength of up to 60 hours , this RGB lighting can drop to one third when turned on. If you want a longer lifespan, you can switch from 2.4Ghz mode to Bluetooth mode. The bad news for those who want to use it with cable is that the 1.8m long mesh cable is quite hard and retains the folding marks on the box.

As for the bottom, the 2.4Ghz dongle slot is here, and the ability to carry the mouse inside is also a very important plus. Also, PTFE skatezs have one of the best gliding performances I’ve seen in a huge and impure PTFE skatez . Unfortunately, in the press sample that came to us, the adhesive of these skatheses was quite weak and caused them to fall from the mouse. There is little chance that this will be repeated in the products on sale, to be honest, so I decided not to break a serious score.
As a result, XPG has made a stylish transition to the mid-upper class with the Alpha. Its $ 60 price will put it around or slightly below the $1,000 band, but I have to say it’s a good enough product to hold on here. If you’re looking for a wireless, multifunctional mouse, check it out here.
