An announcement has come from Capcom for the expected new game of the beloved horror series, and it seems that the course of the game will change completely. So there was a little but concise sharing about the Resident Evil 9 story, which was highly anticipated by the players and fans of the series.
There may not be the Winters Family in the Resident Evil 9 story
As the developer has confirmed that the upcoming Resident Evil Village Shadows of Rose DLC will complement the story of the Winters family, Ethan and Rose Winters will not be included in the Residen Evil 9 story. It’s clear that Capcom’s iconic horror game franchise will go in a whole new direction. While players are looking forward to the new game of the series, Resident Evil 9, it’s good to know that at least the Winters family will no longer be the focus on the new game of the series, as they were in both Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village.
In a statement, Capcom’s Kento Kinoshita said, “The Shadows of Rose story was created to end the epic story of the Winters family.” Producer Masachika Kawata added that they “will definitely not share” any information for the upcoming games. Other than next year’s Residen Evil 4 Remake, there’s very little known about the Resident Evil franchise.

The Shadows of Rose DLC for Resident Evil Village will be released on October 28 and will be 16 years after the events of the game. This DLC, which can be seen as an important time jump that will give some great stories without disturbing the fine details of the original game, will be quite interesting to see if Capcom can fill this gap for Resident Evil 9.
Kawata also talked about the upcoming third-person mode for Resident Evil Village, saying, “This is an event that requires as much effort as creating a new game. It’s a very different experience when the same game is played in third person.”
