Mortal Kombat, released last year from the Warner Brothers, was perhaps one of the biggest disappointments of recent years. The box office of the film, which also aired on HBO Max at the same time as the cinemas, was not inherently satisfactory. Directed by Simon McQuoid, it was not only a bad game film, but also a serious one. However, after this failure, the studio did not stop making fatality and began preparations for the sequel.
Greg Russo wrote the screenplay for the first film, this time the studio, which signed a new screenwriter for the film, broke the route to mcu. Jeremy Slater, who is also a screenwriter on Marvel’s freshest series Moon Knight, has begun writing the sequel. Slater’s latest statements tell us about the film’s progress;
When I thought of the good things about the first movie, I thought of mortal kombat, but I didn’t think of anything good. It’s just that Sub-Zero was used in the movie. Other than that, the fact that we don’t see a tournament in a movie called Mortal Kombat, johnny cage;the lack of it, the bland story flow and the meaninglessness of the new character, all the negative elements connotate with the film. I hope that, as Jeremy Slater said, we can learn lessons from the first film and watch a film that really deserves the brand. Mortal Kombat 2 does not yet have an official release date.
