KRAFTON, Inc.in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDSu officially announced Vikendi Reborn, a large-scale refresh of the popular Vikendi map, via a Developer Talk live-streamed worldwide on November 26.
Originally announced through the PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Development Plan 2022, Vikendi will officially return under the name Vikendi Reborn when Update 21.1 will be released on December 6 for PC and December 15 for console players. Players who wish to experience the revamped Vikendi Reborn map can log in to the PC test server today. Below are details of the features offered during the Vikendi Reborn live stream.
Vikendi Reborn
As the snow-capped map expands from a 6x6km map to an 8x8km map, players will soon face the harsh reality of the reborn Vikendi map. Players should be careful that Vikendi Reborn will reveal many challenging conditions, including the new Type Zone. This area will limit players’ view due to the wide variety of blizzards that appear throughout the map. You can check out the numerous features and regions from Vikendi Reborna below.
New Feature: Cable Car – The cable car is a new mode of transport that players can use to move around the map. There are two routes for each station and only one Cable Car operates per route. These Cable Cars are fully autonomous and will be ready to board when they arrive at their stations. This new mode of transport will be available only on Vikendi.
New Area: Laboratory Camp – With the return of Vian, Laboratory Camps have been set up and scattered around the frozen lake in the northwest, and each camp is different in size and structure. Alarms are also installed in specific Lab Camps and will be activated immediately after items are removed from the Loot Drops. Speaking of Loot Drops, a new type of crate may appear in Lab Camps with specific items from different types of drops.
Yellow Loot Drops: Reinforcements, Launchables, M79 or Level 3 Equipment may appear.
Red Loot Drops: Weapons (including ammo) and potential Care Pack weapons can be revealed.
Blue Loot Drops: Weapon attachments found in the Vican may appear.
New System: The Comeback BR system is set up for Vikendi Reborn for players to return to battle three times instead of one. Eliminated players will track their team members until they enter the Comeback BR arena, where they must survive to return to the match. A total of three Comeback BR stages will take place during a single match. If a player returns to the match but is eliminated once again, the participant will be able to participate in the next stage if he dies in the pickup stage.
In addition, players who died in the first and/or second stage are given the opportunity to try again in the next stage. If a team is eliminated while waiting for the start of the Comeback BR stage, they automatically lose the match.
Familiar Features in New Places – Familiar features that were only available in Desto have reached Vikendi! Map Auxiliary Items (Ascender Attachment and Auxiliary Parachute) are provided to every player entering the Vikendi, while the Ascendants are attached to buildings in the Observatory and Coal Mine. Finally, Ascender Towers and Fuel Pumps were built throughout the map.
Crowbars, Ready! – Players can now use crowbars to interact with various objects on the map. Players can use crowbars to open lockers and locked buildings. Crowbars must be equipped to interact with cabinets and locked buildings.
Smashing the Snow – The Snowmobile is back in Vikendi! Up to two players can drive at a maximum speed of 120km/h on snow and the speed of the Snowmobile will no longer decrease on flat surfaces, concrete, roads or hard ground. The player also shoots with pistols from the driver’s seat.
Vikendi, which will come to PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS on December 6 for PC and December 15for console, has been renewed taking into account the feedback of players. In the meantime, players can revisit PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS’ Dev Talk on YouTube and Twitch channels around the world.
