Rockstar has announced that GTA Online will include special upgrades that will not be available for gamers on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 when it is released on the next generation of consoles. The next generation version of GTA Online is scheduled for release on November 11, almost eight years after the original version reached consoles. GTA Online will also be released as a separate standalone version, and PlayStation 5 owners will be able to get it for free as long as they request it in the first three months of the game’s release.
Rockstar did not say whether the upgrade path for the full GTA V package would be free or paid, but said the new releases would bring “new features and more.”
In addition, Rockstar recently announced that they will close online services for three of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 games, including GTA Online.
