There are plenty of weapons to choose from in Starbound. Ranged weapons are a highly preferred type for new and experienced players. New players may want to attack the opposing opponent from a distance. Long-time players who are used to the aiming system in Starbound can quickly kill a group of enemies.
Starbound was launched in 2013 by developer and publisher Chucklefish. Starbound managed to sell more than 1 million copies in the beta phase. On top of that, the developer added new weapons and game modes to this successful game. A game mode where you will lose everything we have when you die, and dozens of different weapons such as pistols, grenades, pulse rifle have been added to the game. It then received the Starbound 1.0 update. With Starbound’s 1.0 update, the production left the early access process. New biome, pets, new technologies and missions have been added to Starbound. Following the update, the Starbound producer announced that he had collected enough development budget for 9 years.
Starbound does not include many ranged weapons. In this list, we have compiled the 10 Best Weapons in Starbound Game. Here is our list:
1) Tesla’s Wrath (Double Hands)
Tesla’s Wrath is a weapon like a sniper rifle. But instead of normal bullets, energy reflects rays. This weapon causes a lot of damage per shot and can be fired once a second, or about 4 shots every three seconds. Tesla’s Wrath can be upgraded to level 6; this increases its damage per shot.
Tesla’s Wrath has a Marked Shot feature that allows the player to target multiple opponents and shoot a marked enemy all with one shot. Tesla’s Wrath’s shells also have a high recoil rating. Finally, the enemies that are shot become electrified, causing the enemies near the victim to take damage.
2) Grenade Launcher (One Handheld)
Grenade launchers in Starbound are incredibly powerful weapons. Grenades are launched across the screen with a bow into their orbit. If they hit an opponent, they explode. If they don’t hit an opponent, they’ll jump around the screen until they hit it. The explosion can repel even large competitors.
Players should receive proximity grenades as soon as possible for their preferred grenade launcher. Proximity grenades cause grenades to explode if they approach the target, and if the shot somehow misses, the grenade lands on the ground and acts as an explosive trap.
3) Dragonhead Pistol (One Hand Holds)
This quick-firing semi-automatic pistol can do a lot of damage very quickly with very little energy per shot. It also looks great and has a charged shot. If the trigger is held down for more than one second, the gun will charge. If fired with a full charge, it deals six times more damage than a normal shot.
The Dragonhead Pistol can be dropped as treasure when defeating the Bone Dragon boss (10% chance). Since the Dragonhead Pistol is one-handed, double-handed can be used if the player does the necessary actions to get two. The Dual-wielded Dragonhead Pistols are set in the game as a fun and effective weapon loading.
4) Lazercaster (One-Hand Holder)
This unique level 7 weapon is a weapon taken from Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. The Lazercaster can be purchased from the Peacekeeper Store. But in the store 3. Keep in mind that it will be available in the tier and will cost 15 Peace Credits.
The lasercaster emits a constant beam of energy that pierces enemies. If the player can find a group of enemies lined up, the beam will kill them all in a second or two. This effect and the damage it causes per second makes the Lazercaster suitable for a ranged player’s main weapon. You can use this weapon to become a bounty hunter.
5) Alien Worm Gun (Double Hands)
Alien Worm Gun is one of the live weapons featured in the game and one of the best ranged weapons in the game. Alien Worm Gun sends out long alien worms that damage targets. These stretch to a length of 20 tiles and can hit the pistol multiple times before retracting. The weapon can send more than one worm (more like tentacles), and the new worms are extended outward while the old worm retreats.
The Alien Worm Gun is one of the most efficient weapons in terms of energy use. In fact, since each worm stays outside and hits multiple times for eight energies, this weapon can be fired indefinitely. Alien Worm Gun has a secondary firing mode that sends 20 worms in each direction; if the player is surrounded by enemies, this weapon can be very useful.
6) Magnorbs (Double Hands)
This weapon consists of three metal cannons that move (vertically) in a circle around the hand with the Magnorbs Bracer attached. These three balls can be projected onto the screen at high speed. When hitting the target or a solid surface, the balls will bounce with very little loss of momentum per bounce.
The special ability allows the player to create a strong protective barrier that covers the forward-facing area of the character. This barrier is the strongest in the game, but it doesn’t last long. The barrier can only be created if all three balls surround the supporter. This weapon actually turns the character into Magneto.
7) Plasma Assault Rifle
Plasma Assault Rifle has two shooting modes; however, unlike many weapons in the game, the standard and secondary firing modes are equally numerous. The standard shot produces a small bullet in the form of a diamond, which leaves a small trail behind it when flying through the air. These projectiles ignore gravity, cause serious damage to the target, and bounce off solid surfaces.
The secondary ignition mode acts as a grenade launcher with sticky grenades. The difference is that Plasma Assault Rifle throws three sticky bombs per shot. For example, send a few waves of sticky bombs into the gap between the enemy and the player character, and then switch to standard firing when the enemy starts to take damage from the explosions. Thus, you can easily experience this dual shooting mode on enemies. Finally, this weapon has a useful side effect, such as illuminating dark areas.
8) Firestorm’s Fury
This is the only weapon on this list that is mainly a melee weapon. Firestorm’s Fury is a sword. The sword has a secondary fire mode that turns the sword into a flamethrower. The flames are sent by a long-range jet that can be ignited continuously, or at least until the player runs out of energy.
Damage per second is quite high, and enemies who are hit are given the inconvenience of burning conditions. This causes enemies to take fire damage over time. The player can hit a group of enemies with the flamethrower for a few seconds, then jump forward and hurl Firestorm’s Fury at all the enemies standing. This tactic makes standard enemy encounters almost very easy.
9) Evil Eye (Double Hands)
Evil Eye is a weapon that is often overlooked, but it’s one of the best ranged weapons in Starbound. The standard shot throws an eyeball at the target. The rate of fire for standard shooting is quite fast, and the icing on the cake is that the eyeballs bounce off enemies and surfaces; so that each eyeball can harm an enemy several times.
Evil Eye’s secondary attack is extremely powerful. The player needs to aim at an opponent, but after that, the target is hit every second, as long as it is within the player’s field of vision. The damage is automatic, increases over time, and can hit multiple enemies.
10) Doomcannon (Double Handed)
Inspired by Doom, this firearm is the best ranged weapon loved by most gamers. Doomcannon’s standard shot sends several bullets in a spray like a shotgun. It deals a high deal of damage to the opposing opponent, and the spread of bullets makes it much less likely to disappear.
The secondary firing mode fires a grenade-like bullet that explodes when it hits an enemy or a solid surface. Enemies caught in the explosion are affected by the disturbance of the Doomed state. The Doomed state disturbance causes enemies to explode if they take more damage than ten. This explosion ignores armor. Enemies hit by standard fire also receive Doomed status.
