The highly anticipated Shadows of Rose DLC content for Resident Evil Village was originally designed to have a different content. Capcom wanted to take the game to a completely different point, but later changed their minds and started working on the current story of the DLC.
Capcom was actually thinking of a different ending for Resident Evil Village.
Several people from Capcom have said that “Shadows Rose,” the Resident Evil Village DLS, was created by taking it away from a Chris Redfield story. Preparations are complete on the Capcom side for the Gold Edition, which will be released on October 28. The upcoming new DLC content will include additional playable characters for the Mercaneires mode and a new third-person perspective that has won the admiration of fans, and we are looking forward to the DLC just like other players just because of this new feature.
In the light of the information, it was understood that ideas were being considered for the long-running buff hero Chris Redfield of the series, and that Rose was not the only focus of the DLC. In an interview with Kento Kinoshita, director of Resident Evil Village, he stated that they were working on a different concept for a while before deciding on Rose’s story.

In the first concept content, Chris Redfield was planned to “go crazy”, but then we focused on working on “Shadows of Rose”. It is not known for now whether this shelved alternative concept will see the light of day or not. But Kinoshita said the team said they wanted to listen to fans, many of whom were “influenced by the main story.”
In the continuation of the same interview, with the third-person camera that will come to the game, players will not be able to see Ethan’s face no matter how much they move. According to producer Masao Kawada, the main reason behind this is that the main character is a representation of the actor’s ego. So no matter how much players move the camera to see Ethan’s face, the character will either retreat or the angle will change. With Shadows of Rose, the Resident Evil Village story will be complete.
