ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced ROG Swift 500Hz, the world’s first esports gaming monitor with a 500Hz refresh rate. The Swift 500Hz model features a 24.1-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) FHD display using Esports-TN (E-TN) technology, giving gamers the opportunity to enjoy the fastest LCD screen ever, delivering a 60% shorter response time than standard TN LCD displays. The Swift 500Hz features NVIDIA® G-SYNC® technology as well as an advanced Esports Vibrance mode.
Added directly to the monitor’s firmware, this mode includes special settings for esports games. This mode allows more light to pass through the LCD crystals, making the colours much more vivid. Because latency is a crucial factor in esports gaming, the Swift 500Hz also features NVIDIA Reflex Analyzer technology. Thanks to this technology, players can measure latency with a single click.
As always, ASUS ROG continues to push the boundaries of display technology. Ten years ago, ASUS launched the world’s first 144Hz 1080p gaming monitor. In 2017, ROG introduced the first NVIDIA G-SYNC 240 Hz gaming monitor. In 2020, ROG introduced its first 360Hz gaming monitor.
Pushing the boundaries of display technologies
“When we introduced the world’s first 144Hz monitor in 2012, they told us that the human eye can only detect 60 frames per second,” said ASUS Display Product Manager Gavin Tsai. Today, 144 Hz and 240 Hz gaming monitors are common and standard features in the market. And the incredibly fast ROG Swift 500 takes technology to a whole new level.”
With less motion blur, improved visuals, and shorter input lag, ROG Swift 500Hz is designed to give professional esports gamers the upper hand in tournaments. One of these impressive features, the extremely short latency, is the result of a significant collaboration with NVIDIA. “ROG Swift 500Hz with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology gives gamers the shortest latency on the market,” said Seth Schneider, Head of Esports at NVIDIA, “And with NVIDIA Reflex Analyzer, gamers can measure latency with a single click, so they can be confident they’re achieving the fastest response time in the most exciting games.”
