New information keeps coming in about The Callisto Protocol, a sci-fi-themed survival action adventure developed by Striking Distance Studios and to be published by KRAFTON. According to two recent interviews, the game will feature ray-traced shadows and ray-traced reflections.
Mark James, Chief Technical Officer of Striking Distance Studios, revealed in an interview with IGN that the game will have ray-traced shadows. In other words, the Striking Distance team will use Ray Tracing technology to improve shadows in specific areas.
In another interview with Techradar, James stated that the game will have ray-traced reflections. The development team even reported that ray-traced reflections will be used for the characters’ pupils.
In the light of all this information and explanations, we can say that the game will have both Ray Tracing Shadows (ray-traced shadows) and Ray Tracing Reflections (ray-traced reflections) on PC.
The Callisto Protocol will debut for PC on December 2 via PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam.
