Riot Games and Coca-Cola® today announced their partnerships with a multi-year deal, a first in the mobile gaming and esports industry. This agreement combines League of Legends: Wild Rift and Wild Rift Esports in the fast-growing mobile gaming and esports industry with the Coca-Cola brand, giving the brand an important opportunity to build meaningful connectivity with players and fans.
Wild Rift Esports, the first mobile esports developed by Riot Games, has its first official competitive season, consisting of eight regional leagues and a global season finale, starting in 2022. Teams from around the world will compete in regional tournaments to qualify for the Wild Rift Icons Global Championship, the first official global tournament of the Wild Rift this summer. Information on the date and location of the final will be announced later.
Coca-Cola will work with Riot Games to deliver unparalleled fan experiences as the global co-founder of League of Legends: Wild Rift and Wild Rift Esports. The world-famous brand will generate value for the community through experiences and special rewards, such as weekly content series with Wild Rift to motivate, entertain and support fans. The first traces of this partnership are seen in the digital campaign “It Must Be Real”, run by Coca-Cola and featuring scenes from wild rift esports.
Coca-Cola has previously worked with Riot Games to offer gamers new and exciting opportunities. From 2014 to 2016, Coca Cola teamed up with League of Legends for the World Championship to partner with movie theaters in many countries and offer exclusive viewing experiences with highly popular collection products.
