Spider-Man Remastered, which was released for PC last week, was loved by fans as well as curious players. Some references in the game files indicate that PSN accounts can be used for the PC platform in the coming period.
According to information shared by VGC, Sony plans to allow PC players to link their PlayStation Network accounts to certain games. Players who do this may be awarded some in-game rewards. While no PlayStation Studios PC game has yet allowed linking to PSN accounts, some details have been found in Spider-Man’s files.

Sony may soon integrate PSN accounts into games on PC
The names of some of the files included in the Spider-Man Remastered PC version point to a new feature that Sony may introduce soon. Some references, such as “PSNAccountLinked” and “PSNLinkingEntitlements”, have been discovered by players who tamper with game files. There are also references such as “LevelCapExtras” for rewards that will be given after the PSN account is linked. Developer Insomniac seems to give rewards to players who link their accounts in the future.
As you know, there was also a page for PC games on PlayStation’s official website. If we look at Sony’s recent strategy, this PSN account linking situation may be made official tomorrow and the next day. However, it is not yet clear whether it will be available in all PS games released to PC.
On the other hand, we see that this situation is already implemented in the rival company Xbox. Games like Forza Horizon 5 and Sea of Thieves have “Requires a third-party account: Xbox Live” on their Steam page. We may soon see a PlayStation version of this as well. Although they are not console manufacturers, companies such as Ubisoft and EA are already using similar applications. This situation, which is quite common on the PC platform, can also be encountered in PlayStation Studios games.
