It’s been almost four years since we reviewed the first model of MSI’s Force GC30 gamepads.
It was no surprise that the V1, which we liked quite a lot when we examined it, was now getting its age, and MSI recently released the V2 version of the product with minor but replacement changes, maintaining the same design, of course, again at a competitive price.
In terms of design, the MSI Force GC30 V2 retains the same outline of the old V1. Let me also mention that there is a white version that looks great unlike V1. If we look at the differences of our black test product from the V1, we have to say that the MSI red tones under the analogues have been replaced by a gray, simpler tone. In addition, the MSI lettering, which looks like a plate on the front, has been made more compatible with the body of the gamepad. Another change is the pattern of the rubber palm restraints, which are much more comfortable in long use. Thanks to the herringbone pattern, it is possible to use it more comfortably than before.
The GC30 V2 comes with support for Xbox, PS and Switch, just like the old model. The product, which can be used on PC and Android, includes a 2 meter cable for PC and 30cm cable for Android. The wireless adapter isn’t big, but it still hasn’t been possible to store it somewhere on the gamepad.
There are also different connection modes, the lights on the front and the table on the back guide you, but if you ask me, do not leave the Default mode. In this way, if you have not had problems in any game and you have problems in some games, you can change the working mode. Finally, let me mention that the product is still connected via USB 2.0 Type-A.
There are also some changes in the technical part.
First, MSI replaced the encoders of the analog arms with more precise ones and equipped the triggers with more precise switches to distinguish between2,56 different levels . There are two different options for D-PAD in the product where non-mechanical, rubber dome keys are used. I was quite pleased with the oval one, but if you have more traditional tastes, you can use the classic +-shaped D-PAD. The triggers and analog keys are a bit of a medium hard, I liked it very much, and it wasn’t tiring. The life of the keys is 2 million clicks.
By the way, I can’t say that the hard plastic material in the V1 has changed, at least I didn’t feel like it, but the feeling it gives is of good quality. With 215 grams, the GC30 V2 is an extremely light gamepad. Let’s take note that the product, which has a dual vibration motor and a 600mA battery, promises a battery strength of up to 8 hours depending on the use and that we have achieved very close values.
V2 will ultimately be an ambitious product with small but on-the-spot changes, especially on the PC side. Although it does not have haptic controls, it is a gamepad that will attract the attention of players looking for a quality, durable product that has managed to put a very serious difference between it and its competitors (Xbox Controller and Razer Wolverine V2) with its price of around 900 TL .
