In February, game studio Rebel Wolves, founded in Poland by former CD Projekt RED developers, announced that it had received a strategic investment from NetEase Games, which acquired a minority stake. Rebel Wolves will remain an independent team for the time being. In addition, it will retain the full game development and gaming rights.
Rebel Wolves co-founder, CEO and game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz said of a press investment: “We are delighted to welcome NetEase Games as our new shareholder and partner. Having one of the leading global gaming companies share in our goals has led to a huge increase in confidence within the team. This investment, provided to us by NetEase, was the last missing piece we needed to continue at full throttle. We now have all the resources to develop a top-notch AAA game.”
