Japan-based game developer ATLUS has announced that total sales for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Switch and PC versions of the Japanese role-playing game Persona 5 Royal, which was released worldwide on October 21, have exceeded one million. PS4 was not included in this sales figure. Therefore, 1 million sales units only cover sales on the above-mentioned platforms.
Story-based Japanese role-playing game
Persona 5 Royal was first released for PlayStation 4 in Japan on October 31, 2019, followed worldwide on March 31, 2020. When the PlayStation 4 version is added to the sales figure, total sales exceed 3.3 million units worldwide as of November 30, 2022. This means that the PlayStation 4 version has exceeded 2.3 million sales.
On the other hand, the total sales of the Persona 5 series, which includes Persona 5, Persona 5 Royal, Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight and Persona 5 Strikers, have exceeded 8.3 million worldwide as of November 30. Based on the total sales of the entire Persona series, this number is 16.8 million worldwide.
Persona 5 Royal is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store.
