The latest NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready driver includes first-day optimizations for Dean Hall and RocketWerkz’s new common survival game ICARUS, and only GeForce RTX players receive launch day support for NVIDIA DLSS and ray tracing.
New NVidia GeForce Game Ready driver released
The new driver also provides the best experience on Chorus and Halo Infinite and includes support for six new G-SYNC Compatible gaming monitors and five new one-click GeForce Experience Optimal Playable Settings profiles. NVIDIA worked with RocketWerkz to add NVIDIA DLSS and RTX Global Lighting (RTXGI) to ICARUS.
Powered by AI processing technology and tensor cores specifically available on GeForce RTX GPUs, DLSS accelerates frame rates in ICARUS while maintaining the game’s stunning graphics detail to deliver image quality similar to native resolution. ICARUS is the first game to use the NVIDIA RTX Global Lighting technology’s new Infinite Scrolling Volumes feature, so it shows what RTXGI technology can do for other games.
ICARUS was developed with ray-tracing global lighting, whose environments are obtained through RTXGI. At ICARUS,RTXGI provides realistic lighting by tracking the rays from the sun and moon that naturally jump from surface to surface. As players level trees, plant buildings and change the environment, lighting is instantly updated to reflect these changes, allowing the dark forest floor protected by the shadows of trees to be brightly lit compared to the trees that are now cut down.
Supporting ICARUS’s massive biomes, infinite scrolling volumes are a new feature that updates lighting in a large volume from a player’s point of view, reducing memory requirements and improving performance as gamers move around.
The NVIDIA Game Ready Driver for ICARUS adds other features, including:
