We live in a golden age of independent horror games. Sometimes there are games that bring a part of our childhood back to us. My Friendly Neighborhood, a new survival horror game set in a Sesame Street-inspired television studio, was announced at realms deep.
Sesame Street residents in a horror game this time
3D Realms’ Realms Deep event was held this weekend and numerous independent games were introduced. The most notable of these announcements was My Friendly Neighborhood. My Friendly Neighborhood will be built by independent developer John Syzmanski, who has previously made interesting games such as Kyle is Famous. In the game, we will play a local mechanic tasked with finding out why the old abandoned TV studio suddenly broadcasts new signals. Syzmanski is adamant that the game will be based on real fears rather than blood.
My Friendly Neighborhood offers Resident Evil-style gameplay. We can also see the video inspired by Bioshock and Five Night’s At Freddy’s. In the game we will play as FPS, we will try to escape the residents of Sesame Street while solving Resident Evil style puzzles. We’ll also have a mechanical pistol called the Rolodexer spitting out alphabet cards. In addition to sneaking through studio sets and meeting rooms, we’ll try to survive in many strange setting made of crayon art, such as Elmo’s World. Most importantly, we will also have a grid-based inventory to manage all our puppet cutting weapons and items.
The game sounds both creative and extremely scary. The release date for My Friendly Neighborhood has not yet been given. Sesame Street will be back with uswith the brand new survival horror game My Friendly Neighborhood.
