The 12 teams that qualified for the pre-selection were divided into two groups of six teams. Each team will face all the other teams in its group once. After these matches, the first placed teams from both groups will automatically advance to the group stage. The 3rd and 4th placed teams will face off in a five-game series, and the winning teams will face the runners-up of the other group for the last two places in the group stage. These matches will determine the last two teams that will advance from the preliminary stage to the group stage. After the completion of all the matches in the preliminary stage, the four teams that have advanced to the next stage will be placed in the current group stage groups by lot.
Group Stage: 7-10 October; 13-16 October
The top 4 teams in the preliminary stage will participate in the 12 teams that qualify directly for the group stage. These 16 teams will be divided into four groups of four, and each team will face all the other teams in the group twice.
The top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout stage.
Qualifying Stage: 20-23 October (Quarter-Finals); 29-30 October (Semi-finals); 5 November (Final)
Eight teams will enter the knockout stage, which consists of quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The tournament will move to a single-elimination fixture at this stage and all series will be played over 5 matches. The matches will be determined by a drawing of lots on stage after the last day of the group stage.
The team that comes first from here will be the 2022 World Champion.
