Christofer Sundberg has revealed that Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios once made an Iron Man game with Disney. Co-founder Sundberg left Avalanche in 2019 to start his own studio, Liquid Swords. Recently, he spoke about the Iron Man project, which was being developed at some point in the studio and was later canceled. It was stated that the reason for the cancellation was due to the fact that Disney’s demands were too high.
In an interview with MinnMax, Sundberg gave a little more detail about the Iron Man game developed by Avalanche Studios. The project was cancelled in 2012 after several years of development. Sundberg noted that this development process is very messy and lacks a healthy environment.
In the Iron Man project, which is considered as an open-world game, the main character would be able to throw enemies at the walls and come to the forefront of close combat. Players would be able to take off and fly anywhere in this game.
