For the DC Cinematic Universe, a future with plenty of movies awaits us. The solo superhero films project that started with Aquaman was successful up to a point. We’ve already seen a great The Suicide Squad movie with james gunn. With Flash, we’re going to start all over again. Wonder Woman faltered with her second film, 1984, but Patty Jenkins is pretty ambitious for the third. Birds of Prey, which seems to be one of the films that boils down in between, has been very successful in adding new faces to the universe. One of these new faces, Black Canary, is preparing to get its own film with the rise of streaming services.
Jurnee Smollett, who plays Black Canary in the film, will return to her role. The screenplay will be written by Misha Green, who we know ;d Lovecraft Country. “Looks like the Canary’s coming out of his cage. I am so excited to finally be able to go on this adventure with my creative soul mate Misha Green.” Smollett confirmed the film firsthand. Black Canary will also star Birds of Prey producer Sue Kroll. Kroll & Co Entertainment, which Kroll co-founded, has also produced the film. No official release date has yet been announced from the HBO front.
