With the official release of Unreal Engine 5 at epic games; in The State of Unreal 2022, we had the chance to watch several technology demos. The Coalition, known for its Gears games, was one of the studios that produced the demo.
This video, called The Cavern, doesn’t actually represent a game that the team is currently working on, it’s a technology demo that shows off the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5. But we’ve seen a lot of tech demos that have turned into games before, like quantic dream;in Detroit; So let’s not be surprised if we see this demo in the future.
Microsoft and The Coalition said of the demo:
“The Cavern,” the latest Unreal Engine 5 demo from “The Coalition,” shows how movie-quality elements with tens of millions of polygons are drawn in real time and go 100x forward in graphic details. You’ll hear from Kate Rayner, studio technical director of The Coalition;
The technology demo includes a cave (or dungeon), an open-world space and a human character. This character is also crafted with Epic;in Metahuman technology.
