According to VentureBeat, former PlayStation Studios employees Michael Mumbauer and Days Gone creative director John Garvin have created a new AAA video game studio called Liithos.
The newly formed studio is currently developing an NFT-focused open-world game called Ashfall. It is stated that the game is developed for consoles and PC. The game is planned to offer a true Web3 experience. Web3 is also known as Web 3.0 and is based on the decentralized and public blockchain-based version of the internet. Garvin is the writer and director of Ashfall.
John Garvin previously worked at Sony’s Bend Studio on Days Gone and Siphon Filter. Michael Mumbauer is the CEO of the newly formed Liithos team and previously served as CEO of That’s No Moon studio.
In a statement to VentureBeat, Mumbauer said: “I learned a lot from past experiences and from my time at That’s No Moon. I wanted to sail to a new venture to expand this creativity. I’m excited to be working with John Garvin, Hedera and the Liithos team to bring players a new AAA experience.”
