First presented to players by Ubisoft in 2003, the remake of the privacy-focused action shooter Splinter Cell was announced late last year. Since then, the first concept drawings for the remake release, which has been green-lit, have been released. Although these works do not offer us much about the real game, they at least give us an idea of the art style of the game.
The Splinter Cell remake version will be developed by Ubisoft’s own game engine
Developed by Ubisoft Toronto, the remake will use their own game engine, the Snowdrop engine, to deliver next-gen visuals. Snowdrop is a game engine where Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is developed, as well as the Star Wars game. The version of Splinter Cell Remake will be developed from scratch. In addition, it will incorporate dynamic lighting and shading features.
Earlier this year, however, Ubisoft called this remake a “modern reflection.” It is reported that the story will be changed to a certain extent within the new system to a certain extent.
