We have entered a new milestone for Project CARS and Dirt, which are part of the racing and action series and are appreciated by the players. These franchises offered to players by Electronic Arts seem to say goodbye to the game world. In the statement, it is reported that no further development and investment will be made for the next Project CARS game. In addition, according to other reports, EA is considering the same decision for the Dirt series.
Double decision from EA: Investments in two series are stopped
EA, the publisher and developer whose name we often hear, continues to make new decisions. In a statement, it is reported that investments for the Project CARS game have been stopped. The game Project CARS was developed in 2015 by Slightly Mad Studios. It was claimed that Ian Bell, the head of the studio, would not work with EA again in 2017. When the year came to 2019, Slightly Mad Studios was acquired by Codemasters studio. In 2021, Electronic Arts acquired the Codemasters studio, and the studios under Codemasters, including Slightly Mad Studios, were acquired by EA.
Slightly Mad Studios is currently part of Electronic Arts, and EA has now decided to discontinue these two projects. However, Codemasters will continue to work on rally games as it has received the WRC license. This situation shows that there will actually be more rebranding. It is not yet known whether WRC games will be as difficult as DiRT Rally games.
