If you recall, discord recently had to pull the plug on groovy, one of his most used bots. This system, which broadcasts music or video to the entire server at the same time, was based on YouTube, so it had a veto from the world’s largest video streaming platform. Discord quickly activated a system to replace this boat.
This system, called Watch Together, is currently being tested on some servers. Discord’s system, which makes traditional screen sharing more specific, will work just like Groovy. This means that server members will be able to start the action by adding a YouTube link to the system.
The biggest difference of this system from Groovy is the ads that are the main reason Why YouTube is waging war on these bots. You’ll be able to see ads in every song or video you open on this new system. So much so that the system will warn you that you may encounter ads on the opening screen.
