Yesterday, we shared with you the news that Proletariat has decided to end the wizarding battle royale game Spellbreak in 2023. Hours after this news, we learned that Blizzard Entertainment was considering buying Proletariat.
According to VentureBeat, Boston-based Proletariat will work on World of Warcraft within Blizzard if the acquisition takes place. According to the article, the studio has already been collaborating with Blizzard since May, helping World of Warcraft’s next expansion, Dragonflight.
A Blizzard spokesperson said Blizzard plans to acquire Proletariat but has yet to do so, while Blizzard president Mike Ybarra said, “I think Proletariat will be a perfect fit for Blizzard’s mission to deliver high-quality content to players more often.”
On top of all that talk, Blizzard is certain to buy Proletariat. Maybe this has something to do with the closure of Spellbreak.
