Soulstice sets itself apart from other action RPGs with its unique world, dual heroes and fast-paced battles. Briar and Lute each bring unique supernatural powers to the game and help them fight against the Wraiths that plague the Holy Kingdom of Keidas.
When powerful, savage creatures known as “Wraiths” invade and threaten to consume the creatures, the balance of the Holy Kingdom of Keidas is jeopardized. Ghosts spoil their victims. Then they take over the victim bodies and turn into very powerful monsters that hunt ordinary people.
Briar and Lute are two reborn sisters. With the transformation, Briar has come a superhuman strength and endurance. But Lute, who is sacrificed to tie his soul to his sister, has turned into a ghost with special powers. Briar and the Lute brothers are sent on a mission to reclaim a city in ruins destroyed by the Wraiths.
The fight scenes in Soulstice are very reminiscent of games such as Devil May Cry or Bayonetta. It’s a detailed gameplay, from slowing down enemies to deflecting bullets. Once you’ve mastered how to defend each enemy, all these mechanics will take you to some really cool fight scenes.
In the game Soulstice you will actually fight together for a single goal. You can also personify the weapons and abilities included in the game. Then go to the city of Ilden, which is full of pessimism, and discover the mystery there. All kinds of enemies will come to you and you have to do your best against these enemies.
Soulstice is available for PC on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Steam.
In Soulstice, he is as open to detail in the story as he is in battle. It may take some time to learn the characters’ various powers, weapons, and resources. However, having a few tips can make things a lot easier and more fun for new players. In this list, we have compiled 6 Tips for beginners to the game Soulstice. Here is our list:
1) Edit Camera Angle
It may take some time to get used to the camera angle in Soulstice. As the player explores the world, it works like the camera from the old Resident Evil games: when the player goes out of the frame, they move to a different angle.
During battle, the camera changes again, giving the player more control over the camera. Thus, it can easily monitor the movement from the enemy side, making it easier to avoid enemy attacks and fight otherwise. Although it may seem complicated to have such diversity in camera mechanics, it doesn’t take long to get used to it in the game.
2) Soulstice is not a Soulslike Style Game
Looking at the game, it may be normal to think that Soulstice belongs to the overly compelling Soulslike genre. However, this is not the case.
The battle here is faster and smoother than most Soulslike games. The player can move enemies through the air, perform light and heavy attack combinations in succession, shoot air shots, and play a much more mobile game in this genre than usual.
3) It’s Important to Be Unified in the Game
Attacking enemies increases the level of unity (appears in the icon in the upper right corner). Unity allows Lute to fire additional bursts of energy and Briar to use Synergy attacks. These abilities allow the player to quickly take damage on most enemies. That’s why maintaining the pressure on enemies and quickly filling Unity’s image are important parts of the battle.
But Unity is not a one-way street. That’s because Soulstice adds some complexity to its mechanics, taking cues from other great action RPGs. If the player backfires or is damaged due to an attack, their squad is reduced. Therefore, avoiding blows is just as important as making your own strokes. The player will often be able to play aggressively and quickly build troops. But there will be moments when the smarter decision is to slow down and focus on defense and avoidance in order to maintain the unity the player already has. It is necessary to have a little more experience in the game to know when to attack and when to retreat.
4) Evocation and Banishment
Soulstice includes two types of fields: Evocation and Banishment. Players will encounter Cobalt Veins (blue) and Crystal Overgrowths (red) during their journey. These must be destroyed using Evocation and Banishment Fields. Using a space creates a dome of energy of the appropriate color. To be destroyed, Cobalt Veins and Crystal Overgrowths must remain within the confines of the dome.
Using fields produces Entropy, and when Entropy is full, Lute briefly disappears. The Evocation and Banishment areas are also necessary when fighting blue and red enemies, as these enemies can only be damaged when they are in an area of the same color. Fields are also used in specific platform building.
5) Rapture
There’s more to Soulstice than just making the most of weapons to win battles. Rapture acts as a kind of Rage mechanic, even allowing Briar to take on enemies that would normally be in an area of Evocation and Banishment. Activating Rapture for the second time comes with a flashy special ability to deal additional damage to the player.
But Rapture has a significant drawback. Enabling Rapture causes a significant drop in Unity.
Regaining Unity isn’t normally a big deal, but this is a disadvantage that the player should know about before using Rapture. Because accidentally spending a large amount of Unity at the wrong time can make fights unnecessarily difficult.
6) Master Weapons
Briar has two weapons that he can use at the beginning of the game: Ashen Vindicator and Ashen Enforcer. The Vindicator is faster but weaker than the intervals, while the Enforcer is slower but deals more damage. Later in the game, Briar will be able to use the Hand of Retribution, a glove that can be used to fend off enemies as well as cut through the apparatus.
Different weapons are powerful against different types of enemies. The Ashen Enforcer excels at defeating flying enemies, while the Hand of Retribution is best for destroying the defenses of heavily armored enemies. Each weapon also has its own unique abilities that can significantly facilitate fights when the player knows how best to use them. Ashen Vindicator always appears in the equipment, but the player can only use one of their other two weapons at any given time. Luckily, the player can instantly switch between these weapons.
