The first international event of the 2022 VALORANT Champions Tour will be held in Reykjavik on 10-24 April. In addition, all details about the event were announced.
“Iceland welcomed us very nicely at the recent Riot Games Esports events and, looking at the state of the global situation, offered us the best possible way to a successful tournament. In 2022, the ability to play VALORANT in front of a large audience is a very important priority for esports. However, until we are sure that we can organise an event where spectators can participate live, Iceland is also ideal for hosting international LAN tournaments.”
“Thanks to our relationship and closeness with Iceland, we are able to ensure that all players who qualify for the event can participate in the event and compete in the event. In addition, the time period in which Iceland is located helps us present matches to audiences online, even on multiple continents. This year, we’re updating the structure of VCT scores to better reward performances at international events. In addition, the teams that have won their first Challenger events will be placed lower in the group, thus playing fewer matches in the tournament than the teams that finished second or third.”
