Speaking to IGN Japan, Street Fighter 6 producer Shuhei Matsumoto said that Metro City, the open-world space shown in the game footage, will be just one of several different areas in the game. When asked if Metro City’s graffiti-laden streets are a depiction of America, Matsumoto said, “I don’t think street culture has anything to do with countries.”
Explanations about Street Fighter 6 continue
Matsumoto also said, “I’m working on something that will allow you to travel the world and experience what it feels like to be strong.” Globetrotting has been a theme in all Street Fighter games. The game’s recently released trailer gives some indication of where the areas in the World Tour mode might take place. In addition to Metro City, a Japanese-themed scene featuring Ryu and Chun-Li was shown.
Capcom recently acknowledged the Street Fighter 6 leaks, hours after the fighter was fully revealed during last week’s PlayStation State of Play broadcast. The video for the Street Fighter 6 new character Guile was released. This character shows us that in addition to the World Warriors in Street Fighter 2, new characters can also take part.
