The Disney/Lucasfilm partnership announced several new Star Wars projects to fans at disney’s investment day late last year. In addition to the series that thrilled Clone Wars fans, such as Ahsoka Tano and Bad Batch, some productions were announced that would fill the gap between the sixth and seventh films, just like The Mandalorian. One of them, Rangers of the New Republic, has been canceled for now, according to reports. We don’t yet know if the show will be remaked in the future.
Variety reported that Lucasfilm removed the series from its list of active productions. There was no immediate comment on this decision. But probably the large number of Star Wars franchises currently accumulating has left the studio in a state of cropping of productions. Fans like Ahsoka and Kenobi have long been waiting for productions that can’t be canceled, so the victim has been designated Rangers of the New Republic.
In fact, I was very hopeful of this series to see where the New Republic came from and what was going on after Return of the Jedi. The decision to cancel the Lando series was a little sad.
