In a new move, Konami announced he was cancelling his partnership with FC Barcelona striker Antoine Griezmann. Over the weekend, a video emerged of Griezmann and teammate Ousmane Dembele appearing to laugh and mock employees at a Japanese hotel, ESPN reported.
Griezmann released a statement about the incident monday on Twitter.
“I’ve always been against all forms of discrimination. Some people over the last few days have wanted to make me look like someone I’m not. I unequivocally deny the charges against me,” he said.
In response to the revealed video, Konami said: “Konami Digital Entertainment believes that any form of discrimination, as in sports philosophy, is unacceptable. Griezmann Yu-Gi-Oh! we announced it as our content ambassador, but in light of recent events we have decided to cancel the contract.”
