Hideo Kojima, creator of Death Stranding, commented on the name of the improved version of his game, which will be released on PlayStation 5 on September 24, 2021. Kojima doesn’t like to be called Director’s cut version.
Kojima said of director’s cut: “Director’s cut is a reluctantly abbreviated version of a director’s fiction in the game. I don’t like it when new content that’s cut or added in the game is called ‘Director’s cut’.”
It is suggested that this naming was both wrong and a decision made by Sony’s marketing team.
