Electronic Arts has announced the creation of a new studio called Ridgeline Games based in Kirkland, Washington, D.C., and led by Marcus Lehto, co-creator of the Halo series. The new studio will focus on expanding the Battlefield universe in terms of story. The new team consists of experienced names in the gaming industry.
Marcus Lehto, game director and president of Ridgeline Games, said: “I am very pleased that we are collaborating with DICE and Ripple Effect. I’m also honored to have the opportunity to develop stories and characters in the Battlefield series. I am also happy to lead this responsibility.”
Vince Zampella, founder of Respawn Entertainment and president of the Battlefield franchise, said: “We are bringing new talent and new perspectives and continuing to invest in the future of the franchise. Marcus and the team at Ridgeline Games are ready to evolve the Battlefield universe.”
