I’m sure there’s a big difference between sitting and watching Cowboy Bebop as someone who’s not familiar with the moment and watching him as someone who’s committed to this world in his time. Recreating a cult classic is always a risky business.
The first episode sums up the whole spirit of Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop. A little kuul fight, a little clichéd characterizations, a little drama, a lot of melancholy comedy… We’re talking about a cowboy drama set in space, do I need to explain a lot?
I took particular care to write this review without spoilers. Because either you already know everything you can know about Cowboy Bebop, or you’re a stranger to the show like I am, and you fell for the show because you thought John Cho, who played Spike, was a very stylish gentleman.
Don’t worry, it’s from the first episode, Cowboy Bebop. Ten hours, easy to say, you don’t understand how it went.

You’ve got one to choose, and whatever you like about this show, I think I’d pick the music first. I like it, in general, westernish, but like jazz, it’s complicated.
Because this mess is a big part of Cowboy Bebop. It’s a space age scattered across the planets, but with its dusty roads and carpeted casinos, people have taken themselves wherever they’ve gone. It’s obvious.
And they’ve moved away from each other and become lonely. That’s cowboy bebop’s thing.
At this point, Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop is focused on keeping the story flowing, connecting episodes a little more, unlike an annacity. I think it’s a sensible decision for a live-motion show. Indeed, if you jump from series to an antabith, you’ll see that the greatest feature that carries Cowboy Bebop is the art world, which can only be created by drawing. It’s impossible to get it into a series.
But if this is the first time you’re going to watch it, it’s not going to mean anything to you. At this point, the Netflix team did a good job. Spike, Jet or Faye are somewhere else, but it doesn’t feel like they projected it here. As an audience member of the show, you get to know them yourself and connect.
yes, no Ed. Spike’s mysterious love Julia is a little less mysterious. We also see our beloved villain Vicious a click more, but if you ask me, in a format where all episodes are broadcast at once, it would not be appropriate for each episode to handle a separate topic in its own way.
All of it, when you take a step back and look at Cowboy Bebop, you’re like, “That’s it.” So they did it. If you ask me.
Then why did he get such a low rating from “critics”? They’re so into it! But why? (From here, we switch to the Complaint Special Supplement.)
You can say, “What the hell is the point?” So you’re not wrong. But I really like Cowboy Bebop. No, it didn’t change my life, but I didn’t expect it. I had a lot of fun. I’d watch it for another 10 hours. Certain other viewers liked it, too, because the IMDb note was 7.1 when I wrote this review.
It’s just that some people buried this beautiful show in the shadow of the nostalgia of the animation they once watched. Well, that’s a shame.
You guys definitely watch and give your opinion. If you ask me, Cowboy Bebop doesn’t deserve to be so settled.
