ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced ROG Strix Flare II Animate and Strix Flare II. The latest additions to the Strix Flare II series of gaming keyboards, these two models are packed with features that enrich the gaming experience and customization options.
AniMe Matrix LED display
ROG Strix Flare II Animate features an AniMe Matrix™ LED display[1], which features 312 programmable mini LEDs that let gamers view system and setting indicators such as visuals, animations, audio visualization options, brightness level, and keyboard RGB modes. The display can also be used to show the laptop’s battery life, email notifications, time and date.
The road to victory
Both keyboards feature a high-speed USB microcontroller that offers an 8000 Hz query rate. Refreshes incoming commands up to 8 times faster than most gaming keyboards, reducing response time from 1ms to 0.125ms.
Strix Flare II series keyboards can be configured with ROG NX Red, NX Blue, and NX Brown mechanical switches for fast operation and a consistent feel. Users who want extra configuration options can use their preferred switch type with Strix Flare II Animate’s design that allows for key exchange. ROG PBT dual-cast die-cast keycaps deliver a premium feel and long-term durability. All keys feature mid-size keyheads and shorter handles to reduce shake and make typing more comfortable.
A specially designed ROG key stabilizer reduces friction to make long keys like Space, Shift and Enter move more fluidly and consistently. Thus, these long keys fully reflect the characteristic features of the key used.
Integrated sound-absorbing foam reduces key noise and echoes. The USB 2.0 port can be used to connect a mouse or flash drive, or to charge mobile devices.
Comfort and style
Strix Flare II Animate keyboard features a detachable wrist rest with a built-in light distributor. This piece glows when attached to the light bar on the front of the keyboard. The Strix Flare II keyboard has a standard wrist rest (no light diffusive).
Convenient controls
Strix Flare II series keyboards have metal media controls in the top left corner. These can also be used as hotkeys if desired. By rotating the wheel, it is possible to adjust the volume and turn the sound completely off. The button next to it can be used to fasten forward or backward, or to pause and play tracks.
