FromSoftware’s president, Hidetaka Miyazaki Elden Ring, lover of Souls lovers, shared brand new information. In an interview with IGN, Miyazaki gave details about some of the elements we saw in the trailer, while famitsu said something new about the content we’ll encounter in the game.
First of all, Miyazaki is confident that there will be no delay in the announced release date, and the studio is working on the final touches of the game. That means we’ll get the game on January 21, 2022.
Elden Ring is set in a world called Lands Between, as we see in the trailer, and the story of this world was written by Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin. The idea of Tarnished, given to people who were banished from Lands Between, also came from Martin. So the myths and background story of this world are largely martin’s work.
There will be six large zones in the game, each of which will serve as a dungeon, and each region is under the rule of a different demigod, which has captured parts of the ring. Although we won’t have access to everywhere at the beginning of the game, we won’t have to follow a linear path. All regions will be connected to each other through a hub we’re used to seeing in Souls games (such as Nexus in Demon;s Souls; Firelink Shrine in Dark Souls).
In addition to the largest dungeons in the regions, there will also be dungeons (cemeteries, caves, tunnels) on a medium and small scale. There will be a map of the world, but the regions will not have a map within themselves.
Of course there will be a fast travel system in the game, which will be done thanks to a bonfire-like mechanic. But Miyazaki says he wants players to also navigate the map and explore it themselves. To encourage players to do so, there will be a variety of skills and improvements that we will find during our travels.
We’ll be able to add combat capability to our weapons, but that’ll be limited to one per weapon. We’ll be able to change the skills as we wish, and there’ll be about 100 weapons capabilities in the game.
Since Elden Ring is a game that will offer a great deal of “freedom”, it will be possible to approach the world’s encounters in different ways. One of them is to hide in some areas and pass without awakening enemies.
When we get to summon, we’ll be able to summon auxiliary spirits like in Souls, but this time we’ll be able to call the enemy characters allies. He’s probably talking about the enemies we’ve defeated, Miyazaki. Whether we’re going to be able to get a shield to protect us, an archer to help us with the attack, or even bait us to get behind the enemy.
We will create our own character completely, deciding for ourselves the appearance, weapons, armor, abilities and spells. There’s going to be more than one end to the game again.
Miyazaki elden ring; It would be possible to overcome some difficulties by leveling, and Sekiro was completely able to do so.
Miyazaki also mentioned the day and night cycle, saying that with reduced visibility in the evenings, the aggressiveness of the enemies will also change, and there will be creatures that appear only at night in the game.
Miyazaki also mentioned the duration of the game, mentioning a period of about 30 hours for players who do not stray too far from the side, but added that he is not sure. He also says his goal is to have a great depth in the game.
As time goes on, the number of Elden Ring interviews will increase, and perhaps we will get new information, including bosses. That’s all Miyazaki’s explanations are for now.
