A step has been taken for the game series loved by the players. Recently, Microsoft filed a patent application for Gears of War. Even if the expectations are focused on a new game, the company may have taken a step to protect its brand value. We’ll wait for now until an explanation comes in
Is the patent application for Gears of War a harbinger of a new game?
It’s been quite a while since we last saw a new version in the Gears of War series, but recent developments suggest that there may be a movement on this front very soon. Microsoft has filed a patent application for Gears of War. Application paperwork for a new trademark has been submitted to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
This application may actually be a step taken to protect the existing brand. But since such events are a very rare species, the possibilities seem to be very small. An earlier report stated that a remastered Gears of War collection, similar to Halo: The Master Chief Collection, is under construction.

It is quite interesting to use the name “Gears of War” as a trademark registration because Microsoft’s latest additions to the series have names such as Gears 5, Gears Tactics and Gears POP, so it is seen that the name Gears is used in the last games of the series. Since there is no official statement from the company, all of these conversations are up in the air. We will see together whether a new game or Gears of War Collection will emerge from under this patent application.
