Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been one of the productions that has entered the radar of the players with the return of the series to its roots from the moment it was announced. New details have come for the production, which will reconsider the longed-for old AC texture with its story set in Baghdad and the character of Basim known to the actors. During an interview with GameRant, creative director Stephane Boudon shared some interesting information that players may be curious about.
New details from creative director for Assassin’s Creed Mirage
The move that players have been waiting for a while from Ubisoft has finally arrived. The company is returning to the series’ roots and longed-for old AC texture. In doing so, he doesn’t discard the open-world RPG AC games he launched with Origins. While Mirage is coming, a new Assassin’s Creed game is being developed, developed under the code name Red and set in Japan. The creative director of the game, who included new information in an interview with GameRant for Mirage, shared exciting and interesting information in this sense.
Originally planned as Valhalla DLC
The reason why the main character of the game is Basim from Valhalla is that Mirage was originally planned as a Valhalla DLC . Also, according to Boudon, Basim was the best character the company could tell its story to. His theft-based past and his story of being an Assassin under the leadership of Roshan and his later history aims to re-present us in Baghdad with the air we took in the first games of the series.
It will focus entirely on 9th century Baghdad.
Also, as made clear in the interview in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, there will not be any missions that can be played today or in the future. The entire game will take place in Baghdad during the period in which the story is also the subject. Although the script begins in the Animus, it will continue in Baghdad in the 9th century. At the same time, in the company’s words, Mirage says that “there is a little bit of every AC game”. The game was especially inspired by AC 1, AC 2 and indeed the entire Ezio trilogy. This reinforces the fact that with Mirage the series has gone to its roots. However, they say that they have received some “tools” from Unity, and we say that the DNA of the next generation of AC games such as Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla is also in the new game. Especially in combat mechanics, it seems that we will see similarities from the last games.

More advanced artificial intelligence is coming
Boudan also talked about the developments related to the artificial intelligence of the new game. There will be three different levels of searching, and in the first one, the NPCs only investigate you, while in the last one they bring a new system where swords or hidden knives will talk everywhere you meet. However, the AI would be more advanced, and in Boudan’s own words, players could “play with them a little bit.” A similar phrase was probably used here, “as the cat plays with a mouse.” Still, it can be nice to play against AIs that make you feel smarter.
The character of Roshan is of great importance in the story
New details were also shared for Roshan –Basim’s mentor— one of the prominent characters of the game, which we also saw in the trailer. For Roshan, who will help with the question marks that haunt Basim from the beginning of the play, Basim could now start a confrontation with his mentor somewhere, in Boudan’s words. This means that we can actually see breaks in the story.
It will be a game of Unity and Revelations length
When asked about the length of the Assassin’s Creed Mirage game, nothing clear was said, but Valhalla underlined that they don’t make an RPG like Origins. Rather, we can say that a new AC game with a “well-packaged and intense story” is coming. It’s worth knowing that it can be shorter compared to the new generation of AC games. In fact, if you want to compare game times, the creative director recommends comparing them to Unity or Revelations .
