Bethesda’s new sci-fi RYO game, Starfield, is one of the studio’s most hopeful and highly anticipated games. Todd Howard, the game’s creative director, described Starfield as “Skyrim set in space.”
At the Tokyo Game Show, which began yesterday, Howard also gave a speech, saying the game contained more than 150,000 lines of dialogue.
I think we can explain in other examples how big a number this is. Skyrim had about 60,000 lines of dialogue. BioWare;in Mass Effect 3 has 40,000 lines of dialogue. In other REITs, such values are given as scenario length and number of words, not as lines. Disco Elysium, for example, has 350,000 words and Tyranny has more than 600,000.
It seems that Starfield will be a pretty big game, considering it will not be a game based on pure dialogue, we can say that the gameplay that accompanies so many lines of dialogue will be extremely comprehensive.
Starfield is released on November 11, 2022.
